CONTRACT FOR SERVICES PROVIDED FOR UNDER TITLE V OF THE OLDER AMERICANS ACT THIS AGREEMENT, entered into as of this 1st day of Julv, 2006 , by and between Cabarrus Department of Aaina ,(hereinafter referred to as the "Agency") and the Centralina Council of Governments (the Area Aaencv on Aainal, (hereinafter referred to as the "Council"); WITNESSETH THAT: WHEREAS, the Council wishes to have performed and the Agency wish to provide certain aging services in connection with activities financed in part by Title V Older Americans Act grant funds provided to the Council from the United States Department of Labor through the North Carolina Division of Aging and Adult Services; and NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises, and mutual covenants and agreements hereinafter contained, the parties hereto agree as follows: 1. Emplovment of the Aaencv. The Council hereby agrees to engage the Agency and the Agency hereby agrees to perform the services hereinafter set forth in accordance with the terms and conditions contained herein. 2. -. - Scope of Services. The Agency_ shall provide subsidized employment opportunities and authorized support services for low-income individuals who are 55 years of age or older. All services are to be performed in full compliance with the Title V Regulations as established-by the Department of labor for- the - Senior.- Community Service Employment Program and the rules and regulations set forth in the Division of Aging and Adult Services Title V Senior Community Service Employment Program Procedures Manual, the terms of which are incorporated herein by reference and copies of which have been furnished to The Agency. 3. Time of Performance. The services of the Agency are to commence no later than Julv 21.2006 and shall be undertaken and pursued in such sequence as to assure their expeditious completion on or before the end of the contract period, June 30. 2007 . 4. Grant Administration. The grant administrator for the Council shall be Gavla S. Woody. The grant administrator for the Agency shall be Mike Murphv. It is understood and agreed that the administrator for the Council and the Agency shall represent their respective employers in the performance of this contract. Each shall notify the other if the administrator changes during the contract period. 5. Compensation and Method of Payment. The Agency shall be compensated for the work and services actually performed under this contract by payments to be made monthly by the Council. However, the total compensation and reimbursement to be paid the Agency under this contract shall not exceed the sum of ~ 72,547 in federal grant funds. The obligation of the Council set forth in this agreement for payment of compensation are contingent upon the receipt by the Council of Title V Older Americans Act grant funds from the North Carolina Division of Aging and Adult Services. 1==-8
