Easley, Governor <br /> <br />Robert Lee Guy, Director <br /> <br />September 25, 2006 <br /> <br />John Day, County Manager <br />Cabarrus County <br />65 Church Street <br />Concord,~C 28025 <br /> <br />Re: Cabarrus County Criminal Justice Partnership Program <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Day, <br /> <br />Please be advised that a meeting of the Cabarrus County Criminal Justice Advisory Board was held <br />this date and at this meeting the following proposals were approved. <br /> <br />The first proposal approved was to reclassify the current Criminal Justice Partnership Program from <br />a satellite substance abuse treatment center to a resource center which will offer the following <br />programs: <br /> <br />I. Vocational Rehabilitation including application counseling, job interview technique <br />counseling, and job placement. <br />2. GED program including computer linkup with Rowan Cab anus Community College. <br />3. Cognitive Behavioral Intervention (CBI) including instruction by state certified <br />officers. <br /> <br />The second proposal approved was to amend the current contract with Cabarrus County to address <br />the reclassification from a satellite substance abuse center to a resource center as well as the <br />increased in funding from the State of ~orth Carolina. The contract includes additional sections to <br />address the new services being offered to the clients ofthe CJPP. <br /> <br />We respectfully request the County Commissioners adopt the recommendations of the Cabarrus <br />County Criminal Justice Partnership Advisory Board.
