<br />, <br />/ <br /> <br />Cabarrus County <br />Planning Division <br /> <br /> <br />Memo <br /> <br />To: Board of County Commissioners <br />From: Rodger Lentz, Planning and Zoning Manager <br />cc: <br />Date: January 7, 2005 <br />Re: Planning efforts related to six month subdivision moratorium <br /> <br />I wanted to provide the Commission with an update on where the planning process stands related to the six month <br />moratorium. <br /> <br /> <br />On December 21 a Request for Qualifications was sent out to approximately 20 consulting firms in the region. A copy of <br />the RFQ is attached for your review. Qualification statements are due to the County on January 5th. So far the following <br />firms have submitted: . <br /> <br />1. HNTB (Charlotte) <br /> <br />2. Clarion Associates (Chapel Hill) <br /> <br />3. Duncan Associates/Land Design (Charlotte) <br /> <br />4. GreenPlan, Inc. (Asheville) <br /> <br />5. The Lawrence Group (Davidson) <br /> <br />Distribution of RFQ's to a selection team will take place on January 6th. The team consists of: <br /> <br />Jerry Saunders (Chamber/EDC), Gary Embler (Cabarrus Home Builders), Eric Baggarly (Realtors Association), Tommy <br />Porter (Eastern Cabarrus), Marlynn Burns (NW Cabarrus/Planning Board), Richard Smith (Kannapolis), Jeff Young <br />(Concord) Rodger Lentz, and Jonathan Marshall. <br /> <br />This group will review the RFQ's and meet on Tuesday, January 11 at 11 am to discuss the RFQ's and to seiect firms for <br />interview.
