<br />Tar Heel Tour - $14,260 per grant guidelines. This grant is contingent upon the organization <br />signing the final agreement to hold the event at the Rocky River Golf Club. After discussion, a <br />motion to accept was made by Diane Honeycutt with a second by John Cox. Motion carried. <br /> <br />2005 AAU HYSA Sports Tournament - $17,500 per grant guidelines. After discussion a motion <br />to approve was made by Diane Honeycutt with a second by John Cox with the following addition <br />to the grant guidelines: Collateral and the brochure in its entirety will be sent to the CVB for <br />proofing and approval one week prior to printing. <br /> <br />NCAAU Wrestling Southern Nationals - $1000 per grant guidelines. After discussion a motion to <br />approve was made by Alan Stafford with a second by John Cox. Motion carried. <br /> <br />2005 AAU Spring Nationals M $5000 per grant guidelines. After discussion a motion to approve <br />with the stipulation that Cabarrus County reserves naming rights for the event was made by John <br />Cox with a second by Diane Honeycutt Motion carried. <br /> <br />2005 AAU Division 2 Regional National Championships - $5000 per grant guidelines. After <br />discussion a motion to approve with the stipulation that Cabarrus County reserves naming rights <br />for the event was made by John Cox with a second by Diane Honeycutt Motion carried. <br /> <br />2005 AAU Super National Championships - $7500 per grant guidelines. After discussion a <br />motion to approve with the stipulation that Cabarrus County reserves naming rights for the event <br />was made by Diane Honeycutt with a second by John Cox. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Roger Haas reported the facilities committee has finalized the property lease with the Cabarrus <br />Regional Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />Diane Honeycutt reported Scott Aldrich has been hired to market sports for the CVB and will start <br />on January 4th. <br /> <br />A motion was made by John Cox with a second by Alan Stafford to transfer $10,000 from the <br />salary line item to other operating cost to cover additional expenses related to the hiring of the <br />new employee. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Other Business <br />FC Carolina Alliance has requested financial assistance to purchase, transport and install lighting <br />for three full size soccer fields at Frank Liske Park. After discussion by the board a motion to <br />take $50,000 from the existing fund balance to be appropriated for these lights was made by <br />Diane Honeycutt with a second by Sharon Campbell.
