We summarize the items as follows:

Change Proposal Request 8
1. Framed openings for ductwork: ADD $509. At the two-story building some
ofthe duct openings were large enough that some ofthe existing wood floor
joists had to be cut. Per ASI-7, the general contractor doubled up some of the
remaining joists to accommodate the portions that were removed. We
recommend the owner accept this change.
2. Fur out existing walls for new plumbing rough-ins: ADD $3,370. At several
locations, new plumbing fixtures are located on existing masonry walls. In
most of these locations it is not feasible to put the new rough-ins within the
existing walls, so we have proposed furring out from these walls to provide
room for the new rough-ins.W e recommend the owner accept this change.
3. Same as Item 2, except applies to watercooler in Room 235: ADD$555. We
asked the general contractor to break out this cooler from the proposal above
because we plan to recommend deleting this water cooler. We recommend
the owner delete this water coolerso this fur out will not be necessary. See
Item 6.
4. Replace damage ceiling tiles in Room 246: ADD$1,260. About half of the
existing ceiling panels in this room are missing or no longer usable. This
Change Proposal Request is to replace the missing panels. In Change Proposal
Request 9, the general contractor has provided a proposal to add a 2x21ay-in
ceiling. We recommend the owner reject the repair of the existing ceiling and
to accept the new ceiling. See Change Proposal Request 9 Item 1.
5. Install new %" water line to serve HV AC lab: ADD $472. This area ofthe
building is served by an existing water line that connects between the water
meter andbackflow preventer. Since the current installation is illegal, this
proposal would connectthis room to the system within the building. We
recommend the owner acceptthis change.

(--I )'
