Two additional
recommended changes and a summary of implementation cost follow.

Additional Chanaes

1. Springsted recommended reclassifying the Individual Personal Property Supervisor,
Grade 66, position to a Grade 70. Local review of the duties and responsibilities of the
position and the internal relationships within the Tax Administration Department
determined that reclassification to a Grade 68 would be more appropriate.

2. The review listed the Accounting Technician position at Grade 63 (salary range $26,443
to $40,824) and recommended it remain at that grade. This position is currently at
Grade 62 ($25,178 to $38,880) and recommended to Grade 63.

Implementation Cost

1. Of the County's 217 classifications, 79 (36.4%) were recommended for upgrades and 6
(2.8%) for downgrades. The County has 892 positions. Based on the
recommendations 271 (30.4%) would be upgraded and 7 (0.8%) downgraded.

2. The Personnel Ordinance provides for the greater of an entry level or 5% salary
increase for a change to a higher salary grade. The 10% maximum annual increase
would apply in some instances. To a lower grade, an employee normally retains their
current pay.

1
G---~
