<br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br /> <br />Agenda Item # f:' - , Lf <br /> <br />Meeting Date 3/21/05 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br />Disposition of Property Owned by the Kannapolis City Board of Education <br /> <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br /> <br />The Kannapolis City Board of Education wishes to sell a piece of real property that is no <br />longer necessary or desirable for school purposes. The property contains approximately <br />2.00 acres fronting on Dale Earnhardt Boulevard and located across the street from the <br />former Charles B. Aycock Elementary School property that was sold in 1998. NCGS <br />115C-518 (a) requires that proceeds from the sale of the property "be applied to reduce <br />the county's bonded indebtedness for the school administrative unit disposing ofsuch real <br />property or for capital outlay purposes." <br /> <br />REQUESTED ACTION: (Suggested motion if the Board approves the agenda item as presented) <br />Waive right of first refusal to purchase the approximately 2.00 acres that fronts on Dale <br />Earnhardt Boulevard and was part of the former Charles B.
