Susie Bonds

From: Elizabeth Jordak [ejordak@mhacentralcarolinas.orgj
Sent: Wednesday, April 06, 20054:38 PM
To: Susie Bonds
Subject: Letter of Support

Per our phone conversation, we are again making application to HUD for housing for persons with mental illness. Would
appreciate again the support of the Cabarrus Board of County Commissioners in the form of a ietter such as attached. Over the
past several years, we have been successful with approval from HUD for funding for 2 group homes in Cabarrus County. This
year we are making application for scattered sites (condominiums), which will enhance the array of available housing for persons
with mental illness. HUD requires that we have at least 5 sites in the proposal. We are working with Ralph Hartsell of Century 21
to locate appropriate. sites.

One of the strong aspects of our proposals is that they bring dollars into the community while providing safe housing for some of
our friends, neighbors, and relatives. We will, as usual, be working with Piedmont Behavioral Healthcare in this effort as the
residents will already be in their client base.

Thank you in advance for this support. If you need additional information, please contact me at your earliest convenience. We
are on a tight deadline with HUD, so would appreciate having the letter ready for approval at the next Commission meeting. We
would, of course, have someone at the meeting to accept the letter as it needs to go forward with our material.

Call if you have questions.

Thanks.

(Note: Last year's letter was dated 4/4104)

Elizabeth A.
