Strong community involvement and partnerships with local, state and federal agencies are <br />features in many programs. <br />. Corporate Lands (or LearningSM focuses on unique hands-on educational curriculum for <br />students to explor, local ecosystems. <br />. Campaigns to support migratory bird and pollinator conservation, such as the Monarch <br />butterfly, are criti~al growing efforts throughout North America and beyond. <br />. Large-scale cooplirative ventures through our Waterways for Wildlife regional projects <br />improve and manij.ge habitat along river corridors and watersheds. <br /> <br />Last year through this Eatth Day recognition, Congressman Timothy Johnson [Illinois - District <br />15] learned of the volunt~ commitment to wildlife habitat projects at Marathon Ashland <br />Petroleum LLC's Martin~ville Pipeline Station in Illinois. He presented the company with a <br />Certificate of Special Co*gressional Recognition for their endeavors. <br />i <br />Also in 2004, Senator Se~ator Paul Sarbanes [Maryland] sent a letter of support to the Wildlife <br />Habitat Council and Rlderwood, an Erickson campus for people over the age of 62, in Silver <br />Spring, Maryland, for their Backyard Conservation Day. Community members and residents <br />participated in an all day festival of environmental activities. <br /> <br />We also want to call to ypur attention that projects are ongoing and the sites would welcome a <br />visit at anytime.
