Ms. Burns, Mr. Hill, Mr. Lancaster and Ms. Slivensky <br />against approval. <br />Petition C05-02(R-SU) Approved. <br /> <br />New Business <br /> <br />The Chair introduced the fifth item on the Agenda, Zoning Text Amendment, <br />Petition C05-02(ZT): <br /> <br />5. Applicant: Tab Glenham <br />Request: Zoning Text Amendment <br /> <br />Mr. Rodger Lentz, Planning and Zoning Manager addressed the board stating Mr. <br />Glenham could not be here tonight and he would like to table this petition. He <br />said the applicant is requesting that the county consider adding indoor <br />recreational facilities as a use permitted in the AO district. The purpose of their <br />request is to establish a dance hall in the Georgeville area. Mr. Lentz said <br />currently, indoor recreational facilities are only allowed in the High Density/Mixed <br />Use Residential and the Office/Limited Commercial zones as a use permitted <br />based on standards. The only standard in the ordinance is that a level three <br />buffer yard be installed next to residential uses (level three buffers are the <br />county's lowest buffer requirement). He asked the board to please review the <br />Glenham's request and be prepared to discuss it at the April meeting. The <br />purpose of the discussion is to provide staff direction on whether to proceed with <br />drafting an amendment or if the board does not see the request as appropriate <br />for the AO zoning district. <br /> <br />Mr. Hill MOTIONED to direct staff to draft an amendment appropriate for the AO <br />zoning district, seconded by Mr. Starnes. The vote was unanimous. <br />Petition C05-02(R-CU) Approved for Recommendation <br /> <br />The Chair introduced the sixth item on the Agenda, Zoning Text Amendment, <br />Petition C05-03(ZT): <br /> <br />6. Applicant: Cabarrus County Planning Staff <br />Request: Zoning Text Amendment <br /> <br />Mr. Jonathan Marshall, Commerce Director addressed the board stating <br />essentially what he is asking the board to consider is the redesign of this board. <br />He said included in their packet is a memo he outlined of the design that the <br /> <br /> <br />G-5 <br />
