""~~(f}.,,, ,.., <br />Statement of the Problem <br /> <br />In concise terminology, describe the juvenile justice problem(s) to address and how these services meet the needs or <br />service aps identified in the JCPC Annual Plan <br />The majority of youth involved in DJJ services require a comprehensive psychological assessment in order to develop <br />diagnostic criteria and treatment recommendations for the youth. The assessments can provide an accurate picture of <br />what the client's therapeutic needs are and facil~ate the linkage of these youth to the needed services in their community. <br />Treatment in the community that involves the family is vital to be most effective and prevent placement out of the home. <br /> <br /> <br />COMPONENT SUMMARY (attach for each component) <br /> <br />Target Population <br />Describe fhe fa et pulation and ste s taken to insure thaf the ta et lafion is served. <br />The targeted population includes youth ages 7.18 who are exhibiting pre-<lelinquent, delinquent, undisciplinesd or sexually <br />aggressive behaviors. Adjudicated, diverted, and DJJ At.Risk youth will be considered for services. Services to these <br />youth will be authorized through the Juvenile Court Counselors. Communication between the Cout Counselor and the <br />staff s holo ist will occur re ula on a formal and informal basis, <br />Program Goal(s) State the effect fhis component is designed to heve on solving fhe problem described above. <br />1. Youth referrred for the services will receive comptehensive evaluations and testing for behavioral, emotional and other <br />related Mental Hea~h issues. 2. DAYMARK staff will be placed at the court house 20 hours per week to insure <br />accessibility of service in a timely manner and increased effective consultation to the court and its representative. 3. <br />Youth needing services such as individual, family, parenting, anger management, sex offender treatment, home based <br />services and case management will be referrred to these services within 1 week of assessment. <br /> <br />Measurable Objective(s) <br />State in measurable terms the intended effect on specific undisciplined and/or delinquent behaviors. Example: anticipated reductions <br />in court referrals, runaway behavior. disruptive behavior at school, anticipated improved school attendance and academic <br />achievement. These objectives must include participant outcomes and may include program outcomes. <br /> <br />this pos~ion will assess all referrals from the DJJ Court Counselors w~hln seven days and provide recommendations and <br />referrals for needed mental heatth services. In add~ion to the in~ial assessment, some youth may receive psychological <br />testing ~ clinicially indicated. The goal will be to screeen all referrais over the 12 month period of the grant. This position <br />will serve 40 youth during the course of the year. The staff psychologist will provide written report to the Court Counselor <br />w~hin 21 days of the referral. <br /> <br />Priority Community Risk Factor(s) Addressed <br />State how riori risk factor(s) identified b the JCPC will be addressed. <br />The program will be assessing and providing timely information concerning the needs of the client and the manner in <br />which meeting these needs can be addressed. The service addresses the priority risk factors of Family Management <br />probiems and Community drug and alcohol use through determining the appropriate course of treatment. <br /> <br />Protective Factors Utilized (Ex. Healthy beliefs & clear standards, skills, opportunities, recognition) <br />Protective factors to address "risk factors" will include a comprehansive assessment w~h specific treatment <br />recommendations focusing on increasing the child and the family's protective factors while decreasing the impact of the <br />risk factors the family is facing. <br /> <br />1=+ <br />
