Connections <br />shall be placed at locations where future connection can be made at a reasonable <br />cost and shall not be directed into wetlands, creeks, steep slopes, or other locations <br />that would make the future extension of the road impractical. A temporary <br />turnaround may be required where the dead end exceeds 250 feet in length. <br />Where such a connection has been established on adiacent orooertv. each new <br />subdivision shall be reauired to extend the connection as a link in the orooosed <br />subdivision street network. <br /> <br />8. Sidewalks. Sidewalks for residential development shall be installed based on <br />development density. Half-Streets Prohibited. The dedication of half roads at the perimeter of a new <br />subdivision is prohibited. <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />Street Trees. Street trees shall be required for any development within the <br />Thoroughfare Overlay Zone as described in Chapter 4, Part III of the Cabarrus <br />County Zonina Ordinance. Street trees shall also be reauired alona all residential <br />streets and residential collector streets at a rate of one larae canoov tree for every <br />40 linear feet. soaced a maximum of 50 feet aoart. All street trees shall be a <br />minimum of 2'12 calioer inches at time of olantina. Consideration should be aiven to <br />mixina of tree soecies so that a monoculture subiect to disease is not created. <br />Credit shall be orovided for anv existina tree with a minimum DBH of 6 inches that <br />is oreserved within the olantina strio or a median. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />Placement: Street trees shall be placed either between the curb and <br />sidewalk, behind the sidewalk (placed no further than "0 feet behind the <br />sidewalk), or. no more than 6 feet behind the ditch for ditch and swale <br />sections.
