<br />Cabarrus County Tourism Authority <br />Board of Directors Meeting <br /> <br />September 28, 2005 Minutes <br />LOCATION: Cabarrus County CVB, Kannapolis, NC <br />The September 28, 2005 Board of Directors meeting was called to order at 8:03 am by Chairperson Doug <br />Stafford. . <br />IN ATTENDANCE WERE: <br />Board Members: Carolyn Carpenter <br />John Cox <br />Diane Honeycutt <br />Doug Stafford <br /> <br />Aubie Cook <br />Roger Haas <br />Sharon Campbell <br />Kim Wray <br /> <br />Staff: Ann Sternal . <br />Libba Barrineau <br />Scott Aldrich <br />Linda Collins <br />Judy Root <br /> <br />Guests: Adam Bell, Cabarrus Neighbors, Charlotte Observer <br />Eric Deines, Independent Tribune <br />Joe Ladaga, Sleep Inn <br />Patty Payne, Sleep Inn <br />Doug Stafford and Ann Sternal welcomed the guests and incoming board member Kim Wray. <br /> <br />Doug Stafford recognized outgoing board member Roger Haas. The board presented him with a gift and. <br />words of appreciation for his support and efforts promoting tourism in Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />Richard. Reason and Ryan George of CBvrv could not be present at the meeting, but gave an electronic '. <br />presentation to the board showing benefits of the web services and data management services they offer. . <br />They were available to answer questions via speakerphone. The board will review the information and make a <br />decision to consider a proposal at the next regular board meeting. <br />Minutes . <br />A motion was made by John Cox with a second by Diane Honeycutt to approve the minutes from the August <br />24, 2005 board meeting as submitted. Motion carried. <br />Financials <br />Doug Stafford and Ann Sternal presented the final financial statements for the 04-05 fiscal year. A motion was <br />made by John Cox with a second by Diane Honeycutt to accept the financials as submitted. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Doug Stafford and Ann Sternal presented the financials for August, 2005. A motion was made by Diane <br />Honeycuttwith a second by John Cox to accept the financials as submitted. Motion carried. <br /> <br />. ManaClement Report <br />Libba Barrineau reported the following: <br />o The CVB.is placing signs in all the hotels and attractions welcoming visitors to Cabarrus County. <br />o The 2006 North Carolina Assemblies of God convention has been booked at the Cabarrus Arena and <br />Events Center. <br />o The 2007 Collie Club of America Convention will be held in Cabarrus County. <br />o She is working with a group of alpaca owners to bring their convention here in 2007. <br /> <br />Scott Aldrich reported the following: <br />o Cycle North Carolina will be coming through Cabarrus County on October 4th, . <br />o A gymnastics event will be held at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center the weekend of October 8th. <br />o A collegiate goiftournament will begin on October 16'h. <br />o There will be a NC soccer event towards the end of the month. <br />o The Sports Council is working on a comprehensive sports facility guide. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />Ann Sternal reported the following: <br /> <br />f-:- LH <br />, <br /> <br />
