The EDC Board reviewed the Prairie Packaging project and determined that the project does meet the guidelines for an incentive under the Industrial Development Incentive Grant Program, and voted unanimously to recommend that the Commissioners approve an incentive grant for the project. A copy of the analysis is attached. PERDUE FARMS Perdue Farms is considering an expansion of their prepared foods manufacturing facility on Harris Street in Concord. They tell us that this location is in competition with Perry, GA and Monterey, TN for the project. The EDC Board reviewed the project and determined that it does meet the guidelines for an incentive under the Industrial Development Incentive Grant Program, and voted unanimously to recommend that the Commissioners approve a grant for the project. A copy of the analysis is attached. NATIONAL TOUR The EDC Board reviewed this project in light of the new guidelines established for Corporate Headquarters recently adopted by the County Commission. Unfortunately, the EDC Board did not feel that they had adequate time to fully understand the new guidelines, and voted unanimously to make no recommendation to the Commissioners on an incentive grant for this project at this time. The Board strongly supported, welcomed, and endorsed the company and its Corporate Headquarters relocation to Cabarrus County. They also directed the staff to do everything possible to assist the company, the City of Concord, and Corinthian International in securing this project for our community. It is hoped that the Board's inability to make a quick decision regarding this particular incentive package will in no way be construed as lack of support or interest in the company or its project.
