A Resolution Relative to the Adoption of the Park Master Plan
for Pharr Mill Road Community Park

Whereas, Parks and Recreation areas contribute greatly to the quality of life, and the
need to preserve and improve suitable lands for these uses is urgent; and

Whereas, the donated lands are in an area of rapid residential growth and this gift will
preserve open space and recreational facilities upon land that would otherwise
be subject to dense development; and

Whereas, when complete, the Pharr Mill Community Park will provide some much
needed facilities in the form of jogging/walking trails, picnic areas, playgrounds,
fishing, and other passive recreational opportunities; and

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners that
said Board does concur with the recommended Park Master Plan for Pharr Mill
Road Community Park as presented by the Cabarrus County Parks and
Recreation Department and does adopt the proposed park master plan for
Cabarrus County.

Adopted this 26th day of January, 2004.

Robert M. Freeman, Chairman
Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners

Attest

Frankie F. Bonds
Clerk to the Board
