EXISTING <br /> <br />Cabarru, Counfy Parks & Raoreafion Depar~menf <br />INCENTIVE ~f~ANT$ PRO~f~AM <br /> Fiscal Year 2003 - 2004 <br /> <br /> UIgELINE$ ANg APPLI ,A TION <br /> <br />FUNDINg, <br />AVAILABLE: <br /> <br />PURPO, fE: <br /> <br />Up to 50% of project cost. $ 50,000 funds available for FY 2003 - 2004. <br /> <br />SPONSORSHIP: <br /> <br />ELI~,IBILITY: <br /> <br />To provide seed money for civic and community groups to construct, improve or acquire <br />recreational and park facilities in Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />A project must be sponsored by non-profit civic or community groups. The sponsoring <br />organization must have elected officers, by-laws, and bank accounts. Examples of <br />groups which can apply for funds are: PTO's, civic clubs, youth sports organizations, <br />church organizations, garden clubs, athletic or recreation associations. The Parks and <br />Recreation Department will determine which organizations meet the qualifications. <br />Donations from corporations, grants, or individuals may be used to match county funds to <br />construct or improve recreation facilities on publicly owned land in Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />To be eligible, a project must meet the following criteria: <br /> <br />Ao <br /> <br />The project must be located on public property owned by Cabarrus County, the <br />boards of education, a municipality within the county, or property leased to the <br />county for a minimum of fifteen years. Projects on school property must be <br />consistent with the respective school system's long range plans. <br /> <br />Bo <br /> <br />The project must provide a new recreational or park'facility or improve an <br />existing facility. Maintenance projects are ineligible. <br /> <br />The project must be open to the public on a non-discriminatory basis upon <br />completion, subject to such reasonable restrictions as may be agreed upon by <br />the parties and stipulated as such in the application. <br /> <br />Do <br /> <br />The property the project is located on must remain unlocked and open to the <br />public. (Gates may be locked at a reasonable hour agreed on by the Parks and <br />Recreation Department.) <br /> <br /> <br />
