The Site Director will possess advanced training and have proven maturity, <br />supervision and programming skills. The counselors will possess a minimum of a high <br />school diploma, exhibit initiative, positive role model characteristics and have good <br />rapport with middle school children. <br /> <br /> Intensive review of program guidelines, positive behavior management <br />techniques, developmental needs of youth, experiential learning models, and first aid <br />will be facets of staff training. Periodic staff conferences will address other needs. <br /> <br /> Volunteers who serve as speakers, tutors and activity leaders are recruited from <br />government agencies, community businesses, high school and academic clubs. All <br />those selected are chosen with reference to the students, their group make-up, their <br />needs and interests. Training includes adolescent development characteristics. <br /> <br />D. Organization & Consortium Capaci ,ty <br /> <br /> With a history of cooperation and collaboration since 1996, 4-H SOS Goldminers <br /> <br />have 'successfully served the needs of middle school youth. The organization <br />previously mentioned have de.rnonstrated dedication to the mission of our program by <br />their continuing support. With additional grants from local businesses, churches, and <br />corporate agencies, as well as the generous collaboration and in-kind support by <br />Cabarrus County schools and NC Cooperative Extension, the 4-H SOS Goldminers <br />look to the future. <br />BUDGET NARRATIVE <br /> <br /> The Program Director will be housed at the local Cooperative Extension office <br /> and will have the use of a furnished office and all office supplies and equipment..
