RESOLUTION FOR ADOPTION <br />A REGIONAL DROUGHT MANAGEMENT PLAN <br /> <br /> Wl:I'EREAS, the Board of Directors ('Board) of the Water and Sewer Authority of <br />Cabarrus County (WSACC) has a desire to protect all water supply reservoirs and water systems <br />within Cabarrus County during drought conditions; and <br /> <br /> wlq~REAS, the Board feels that through a Regional Drought Management Plan (Plan) <br />the protection of valuable water resources within Cabarrus County can be accomplished; and <br /> <br /> Wl:P?,REAS, the Board feels that the Plan should establish safe yields of all water supply <br />reservoirs and water systems within Cabarrus County on behalf of the City of Concord <br />(Concord), the City of Kannapohs (Kannapolis), Cabarms County Government (Cabarrus <br />County), the Town of Harrisburg (Harrisburg) and the Town of Mt. Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant); and <br /> <br /> Wlq~REAS, Black and Veatch, Inc., Engineers, has prepared a Plan, which has been <br />approved by the staff of Concord, Kannapolis and WSACC, the North Carolina Department of <br />Environment and Natural Kesources (NCDENR), Division of water Resources and other <br />appropriate agencies; and <br /> <br /> Wl:rEREAS, the Plan includes safe yields and drought operation curves for Lake Don T. <br />Howell, Kannapolis Lake, Lake Fisher, Lake Concord and Black Run Reservoir. <br /> <br />NOW, TlCI~REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Directors of WSACC that: <br /> <br /> 1. The Regional Drought Management Plan, which defines the operation of all water <br /> supply reservoirs and water systems within Cabarrus County, during drought <br /> conditions, is hereby adopted. <br /> · 2. The Board requests that the governing Boards of Concord, Kannapolis, Cabarrus <br /> County,-Harrisburg and Mt.
