COMPONENT SUMMARY (Attach for each component) <br /> <br />Statement of the Problem(s): In concise terminology, descdbe the juvenile justice problem(s) the program <br />intends to address and how these services meet the needs identified in the JCPC Annual Plan. <br />The majority of youth involved in DJJ services require a comprehensive psychological assessment in order to <br />develop diagnostic criteda nd treatment recommendations for the youth. The assessments can provided an <br />accurate picture of what the clients therapeutic needs are and facilitate the linkage of these youth to the <br />needed serices in their community. Treatment in the community that involves the family is vital to be most <br />effective and prevent placement out of the home. <br /> <br />Priority Risk Factor(s) Addressed: State how the program will address the p#odty dsk factor(s) identified by <br />the JCPC. <br />The program will be assessing and providing timely information concerning the needs of the client and the <br />manner in which these needs can be addressed. The service addresses the pdodty dsk factors of Family <br />Management problems and Community drug and alcohol use through determining the appropriate course of <br />treatment. <br /> <br />Program Goals:' State the effect that the program is designed to have on solving the problem(s) described <br />above. <br />1. Youth referred for the services will receive comprehensive evaluations and testing for behavioral, emotional <br />and other related issues. <br />2. DAYMARK staff will be placed at the court house 20 hours per week to insure accessibiliity of service in a <br />timely maner and increased effective consultation to the court and its representatives. <br />3. Children needing services such as individual, family, parenting, anger management groups, sex offender <br />treatment, home based services, and case management will be referred to these services within 1 week of <br />assessment. <br />Target Population: Describe the target population and the steps that the program has taken to insure that the <br />target population is served. <br />The target population includes youth ages 7-17 who are exhibiting pre-delinquent, delinquent, undisciplined, or <br />sexuallly aggressive behaviors. Adjudicated, diverted, and DJJ At-Risk youth will be considered for service. <br />Services to these youth will be authorized through the Juvenile Court Counselors. Communication between <br />the Court Counselor and the staff Psychologist will occur regularly on a formal and informal basis. <br /> <br />Measurable Objective(s): State in measurable terms the intended effect of the program on specific <br />undisciplined and/or delinquent behaviors. At a minimum, state anticipated reductions in court referrals, <br />runaway behavior, disruptive behavior at school, anticipated improved school attendance and academic <br />achievement. These objectives must include participant outcomes and may include program outcomes. <br />This position will assess all referrals from the DJJ Court Counselors with seven days and provide <br />recommendations and referrals for needed mental health services. In addition to initial assessment, some <br />youth may receive psychological testing if clinically indicated. The goal will be to screen all referrals over the <br />12 month period of the grant. <br /> <br />This position will serve 40 youth during the course of the year. The psychologist will provide wdtten report to <br />the Court Counselor within 21 days of the referral. <br /> <br />Information Maintained for Effectiveness Measurement: List the data elements and records the program <br />will maintain to document its effectiveness. <br /> <br /> <br />
