Resolution No. 2004- <br /> <br />Resolution <br /> <br />WHEREAS, In 1991 Cabarrus County entered into a contract with the City of Concord to <br />provide fire protection services to the remaining Pitts Fire District located south of <br />Interstate 85 that was not annexed into the City of Concord, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, due to an error, the Office of the State Fire Marshal dissolved the Pitts Fire <br />District in its entirety, and; <br /> <br />WHEI~AS, an inspection by the Office of the State Fire Marshal's Office in December <br />of 2003 found areas in the Pitts Fire District south of Interstate 85 had not been annexed <br />into the City of Concord, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Office of the State Fire Marshal is requesting that only an updated GIS <br />map of this remaining area be submitted to the Office of the State Fire Marshal and that <br />the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners designate this remaining area as the <br />"Concord Rural Fire Protection District"; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners does hereby designate that the remaining area of the Pitts Fire District as <br />shown on the attached GIS map, located at Highway 29 and Morehead Road; Stowe <br />Lane; and at Old Holland Road and Weddington Road Extension, be named the <br />"Concord Rural Fire Protection District", and said map to be filed with the Office of the <br />State Fire Marshal. <br /> <br />Adopted this 15th day of June 2004 <br /> <br />Robert M.
