Lori Kennedy, the person we had meen speaking <br />with previously, is no longer with the company. The following is a summary of the discussion: <br /> <br />. I told Todd that I had been speaking with Lori about the project and that she was going to obtain the <br />requirements from NC DOl for approval as a modular building. Todd indicated that he did not know if that <br />had not been done. <br />. Todd asked ifthe containers would require modifications to meet building codes and I told him that they <br />would need to meet the NC Building Code and be approved by the state. He then proceeded to say that if <br />sprinklers, fire alarm and automatic release locks are required, then he did not think they could be cost <br />competitive with conventional construction. I told him that, based on my conversations with NC DFS, those <br />items will be required. He then said that "they need to understand that these are just temporary facilities <br />and that the code officials needed to relax the standards.. Todd said they could accommodate some minor <br />changes but that would increase the cost. <br />. Todd also stated that they were working on a project in Texas and it took 18 months to get it approved. <br />. I asked Todd if he would send me a copy of the latest configuration they had for a 40-50 bed facility and he <br />said he would. <br /> <br />Based on my conversations with DFS last spring, it is my understanding that this "temporary facility" will still need <br />to be approved and certified by the state and as such will need to comply with the Building Code.
