Provision: This activity would be provided by employers who need <br />speciàl abilities and who contract with the community college to <br />provide the needed education to acquire these abilities. <br />c. Contributions to meeting of goals: This educational activity will <br />contribute to meeting the following goals: <br />. Adults entering employment <br />. Meeting both Federal Participation Rates <br />. Providing employment services <br />. R$maining off Work First for employment <br />. Reducing the Work First caseload <br /> <br />B. Supportive Services <br /> <br />1. Case Management <br />a. Description: The Employment case manager/social worker is the <br />prim~y coordinator of all services provided to the recipient. They <br />must have a wide knowledge of community partners. From the'} <br />beginning of the process, the case manager works with the recipient to <br />move them toward independence, when at all possible. The work of <br />the case manager consists of arranging for services, coordinating these <br />services, counseling, training in job readiness, assisting in crisis <br />situations, and helping with financial and time management. In areas <br />where a recipient has been sanctioned due to non-compliance with <br />Work First requirements, the social worker will maintain contact for <br />three months to ensure that the children in the home are not being <br />deprived. <br />b. Provision: The Work First Employment Social Worker will be case <br />manager of the case, and will be the primary provider of the above <br />supportive services. <br />c. Location: Most services under case management will take place in <br />one of two places, DSS or the recipients' homes. In some instance, it is <br />conceivable that it may occur in school or the workplace. <br /> <br />2. Child Care <br />a. Description: Childcare will be available as funding permits for all <br />employed Work First recipients. If needed, Block Grant funding can <br />be used to purchase this service. <br />b. Provision: Staff of the Day Care Unit at the Department of Social <br />Services will manage childcare assistance. They will receive a referral <br />from the Work First Social Worker, and take and process the <br />application for childcare, giving the recipient counseling and the <br />choice ,of providers for the care. . <br />c. Locatibn: Childcare assistance will be located at DSS. <br /> <br />11 <br /> <br />(;-5 <br />
