c. Location: The assessment for health support is completed by social
workers in the Crisis Unit at DSS, and services take place at various
locatiòns.

6. In-Home Aide
a. Description: There have been instances where social work staffhas
worked with Work First recipients who have needed the "hands on"
assistance of a paraprofessional in-home aide to provide guidance in
home ¡nanagement, personal care. With the limits on CAP and
Personal Care Services, there is the assumption that the work of an in-
home aide may become increasingly needed in the future to allow
elderly or disabled family member in the home to remain there while
the Work First recipient participates in work-related activities.
b. Provision: This service would be provided in the home ofthe Work
First recipient by a qualified in-home aide, paid for from Work First
funds.
c. Location: The home of the Work First recipient would be the service
location for in-home aide services.

7. Personal and Family Counseling
a. There is a need to
refer to professional organizations for counseling.
b. Provision: DA YMARK Recovery Services, United Family Services,
and Cabarrus Victims Assistance Network (CV AN) provide the
provision of counseling services. These agencies deal with personal
and family counseling. .
c. Location: Both service delivery sites are in relatively close proximity
to DSS. DA YMARK Recovery Services is in the same human service
complex and United Family Services is only a few miles away in
Concord.

8. Individual and Family Adjustment
a. Description: In some instances, there may be occasion to refer a Work
First recipient to the Crisis unit for the provision of Individual and
FamilyAdjustment Services. There may be obstacles or barriers in the
home that require the expertise of social workers that deal with these
kinds of issues. These issues can include household management,
consumer affairs, family life, alcoholism, drug addiction, mental
retardation, emotional disturbances, and school-related problems.
b. Provision: For the most part, provision of these types of services will
be provided by social workers in the Crisis Unit. In situations where

13

(;-5
