<br />Cabarrus County Tourism Authority <br />Board of Directors Meeting <br /> <br />September 22, 2004 Minutes <br /> <br />LOCATION: Cabarrus County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Concord, NC <br /> <br />The September 22, 2004 Board of Directors meeting was called to order at <br />Chairperson Roger Haas. <br />IN ATTENDANCE WERE: <br />Board Members: Diane Honeycutt <br />John Cox <br />Doug Stafford <br />Roger Haas <br /> <br />8: 11 am by <br /> <br />Sharon Campbell <br />Aubie Cook <br />Robert Freeman <br /> <br />Staff: Ann Sternal <br />Judy Root <br />Linda Collins <br />Libba Barrineau <br /> <br />Guests: Michael Roessler, Independent Tribune <br />Shasta Kerr, Hampton Inn <br /> <br />Joe Ladaga, Sleep Inn <br />Mike Downs, Cabarrus Co. Deputy Mgr. <br /> <br />Aaenda <br />Motion - A motion to amend the agenda to include the management report after the <br />presentation of the financials was made by Diane Honeycutt with a second by John Cox. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />Minutes <br />Motion- a motion was made by John Cox with a second by Roger Haas to approve the minutes <br />from the August 25, 2004 board meeting as submitted, Motion carried. <br /> <br />Financials <br />Motion- Roger Haas and Ann Sternal presented the financials for the month of August. A <br />motion was made by Sharon Campbell with a second by Aubie Cook to accept the financials as <br />submitted. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Manaaement Report <br />Ann Sternal presented the management report for August with the following highlights: <br /> <br />· The Visitor Center staff has prepared 3190 welcome bags since July 2004 for various <br />groups visiting the county, <br /> <br />· Libba Barrineau will be attending the AAU National Convention in Stamford, Ct. and <br />attending the German Shepherd Dog Show in Albany Oregon with County Commissioner <br />Carolyn Carpenter. <br /> <br />· The Liquid Steel Event held in August at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center <br />generated an economic impact to Cabarrus County of $992,346. <br /> <br />· The CVB is taking the lead on the Dale Trail project and hopes to unveil the product on <br />Dale Earnhardt's birthday in April of 2005. <br /> <br />...1 <br /> <br />F-J~ <br />
