Therefore, land acquisition was not considered during the course
of this study.

Judicial Facilities

This anticipated growth of jail population could effect the County's judicial resources as well and
is another issue for the Board to contemplate. As such, also included in this packet is a second
proposed program to be compiled by Ware Bonsall Architects, a subsidiary consulting firm of
Freeman White and Associates, specifically for the County's judicial facilities. The proposed
program would coincide with that of the jail facilities study in terms of duration and process and is
provided as additional information for the Board's consideration.

The first objective of the proposed program will be to inventory the existing space allocation of the
Courthouse as well as currently planned space renovations that were drafted by Griffin and
Associates Architects previously. Then the program will determine any projected future space
needs and how or if the future needs may be met with the existing facilities or planned facilities.

The objective of these projects is to conclude whether or not the existing facilities, specifically
their locations, can accommodate the existing and future needs of both the jail and the judicial
facilities. Staff's goal is to find an effective means to provide ample information to the Board so
that they are aware of all the related issues in order to make their determination(s).
