Ownership or Lease: <br />The applicant must own or have at least a 25-year lease on the property where a <br />PARTF project will be located. The applicant must submit copies of the deed or the <br />lease with the application. To be eligible for this State Grant program the current lease <br />agreement with the Cabarrus County Boys and Girls Club must be amended to allow for <br />the full 25-year period. In December, 2002, the Cabarrus County Boys and Girls Club <br />approved this Modify and Amend Lease Agreement. If Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners approves to submit this State grant application, then this Modify and <br />Amend Lease Agreement must be approved by Cabarrus County. Attached are original <br />copies of these agreements for the Board's review and consideration. <br /> <br />Selecting Recipients <br />The North Carolina Parks and Recreation Authority, an eleven-member board appointed <br />by the Governor and the General Assembly, selects which applicants will receive a <br />PARTF Grant. <br /> <br />Funding Schedule <br />Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on January 31,2003 to the applicant's regional <br />recreation consultant. By early May, 2003, the Parks and Recreation Authority selects <br />recipients using PARTF funds from the first three quarters of the fiscal year. By July, <br />2003, the authority selects recipients using PARTF funds from the fourth quarter of the <br />fiscal year. A grantee has two years from the date the contract is signed to complete a <br />project. <br /> <br />If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
