To that end, the following resolution is presented to the Cabarrus <br />County Commissioners: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Cabarrus County Board of Education recognizes the prior methods <br />used to provide £undln8 for facilities without rulslnl~ tho taxes of tho <br />citizens of the county; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />thc Cabarrus County Board of Education recognizes thc nc~xls of the <br />school system beyond faciliti~ to support thc educational needs of the <br />system: <br /> <br />WHERE~S, <br /> <br />wnzRz ,s, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Cabarrus County Board of Education recognizes the budget situation <br />of the State of North Carolina; <br /> <br />the Cabarrus County Board of Education ultimately wishes to maintain a <br />quality education for the students of Cabarrus County; <br /> <br />thc Cabarrus County Board of Education wishes to continue to provide for <br />the employees of the synton to k~'p them in Cabarrus County Schools <br />outlined in the Five-Year Budget Plan; and <br /> <br />thc Cabarrus County Board of Education recognizes that it is not their duty <br />to be the derision makers regmding raising taxes, continuing a one-half <br />c~nt aalt~ tax, or oth0r me~m of raising money to meet the needs of the <br />budget of Cabamm County. <br /> <br />THERE,FORE, thc Cabarrus County Board of Education support~ the Cabarms <br />County 'Commissioners with the difficult t~k of determining thc best means of <br />providing thc resources for ali thc citizens in CabmTus County including consideration of <br />the one-half cent sales tax. <br /> <br />Approved the the Cabarrus County <br />Board of Education on the <br />Iffh day of March 2003. <br /> <br />Dr. Harold Winkler, Superintendent <br /> <br /> <br />
