This is a change that would eliminate moving into <br />both facilities in mid-year. With this concept in mind some changes in the construction <br />timelines have been developed. No work will begin on the Pitts School site until funding <br />has been approved. A Phase II package has been put together for Bethel and will require <br />additional funding prior to the sale of COPS. Listed below is a detailed summary of how <br />the financing must be arranged in order for us to occupy the buildings in the beginning of <br />the school year in lieu of mid-year start-ups. <br />Bethel Phase Il Project <br />1) Contract approval for Phase 11 site work: Work to include all utilities, curb, gutter, <br /> asphalt binder, other associated work. Contract pi:ice is $946,037.00 <br />2) Approval Qore Property Sciences, construction materials testing, $3,540.00 <br />3) Approval of natural gas line extension, PSNC $46,936.00 <br />4) Approval power pole re-location for road widening, Duke Power $3,000.00 <br />5) Approval for payment to Southern Steel contract in lieu of general contractor. The <br /> contract with Southern Steel was approved on October 14ta, 2002 with the intent of <br /> letting the general contractor use the contract for bidding purposes. The county will <br /> now be responsible for payment. This will allow the structural steel to be on-site <br /> August 1, 2003. The contract amount was for $653,498.00 <br />6) Land acquisition for road widening project, estimated at $21,000.00 <br /> <br />Financing: Money that needs to be available prior September 15, 2003. <br /> <br />Culp Brothers, Inc.
