Description: Subsidized employment will be the next most desirable <br /> activi~ that Work First employment services recipients will be <br /> directid toward. In Cabarrus County, Wage Supplementation will be <br /> utilize, where the cash amount of the Work First Cash Assistance and <br /> Food Stamps will be frozen and diverted to supplement a wage paid to <br /> a recipient. This will last no longer than 12 months. <br />b. ProviSion: Services will be provided primarily by DSS and ESC in <br /> order lo develop and em'oil Work First recipients into wage <br /> suppl ~?~mentation. An agreement will be developed for this purpose. <br />c. Cont~bution to meeting of goals: The subsidized employment <br /> emph4sis will have a significant impact on meeting several state and <br /> local Work First goals, and will include: <br /> · Adults entering employment <br /> · M~eting both Federal Participation Rates <br /> · Prbviding employment services <br /> · Er~ployed 6 and 12 months after leaving Work First <br /> <br /> Search <br /> Description: Job Search is an activity that begins the day the potential <br /> Work ~:irst recipient comes to DSS. It is addressed by the Social <br /> Work4r in the New Focus assessment, and the potential recipient is <br /> seen by_ an ESC Consultant before leaving the agency, or prior to <br /> applyip~ g for any benefits. Once the individual is a recipient, Job <br /> Search is pursued to ensure that work is sought diligently. <br />b. ProviSion: This service is directed by the Employment Social Worker, <br /> and th~ client reports to both the social worker and ESC Consultant on <br /> a reg~ar basis, usually weekly. This emphasizes the importance of <br /> this a~ivity, and reinforces the fact that someone is closely monitoring <br /> the redipient to ensure that they are indeed searching for work. <br />c.
