Effect of Work on Holida? or Unscheduled Workdays on Other Types of Paid Leave <br />Regular holidays or ~sch~dul~d wor~ays which occ~ d~mg an a~ual, sick or other paid l~ave p~riod of any officer or <br />~loyee of the Co~ shall not be ¢~arged as a~ual, sick or o~er l~ave. <br /> <br />Section 3. Holiday - When Work Rt~luired <br /> <br />Except for Emergency Medical Servici~s and law enforcement personnel, employees who are required to perform work on <br />regularly scheduled holidays shall be ~nted compensatory time off in accordance with the Wage and Hour Policy as <br />contained in Appendix C. ~ <br />Section 4. Annual Leave ~ <br /> <br />All regular and probationary employe~ who are scheduled to work at least 1,000 hours during the calendar year shall <br />receive annual leave in accordance wigs this policy. Annual leave may be used at the employee's discretion with the <br />approval of the employee's supervisor~ <br />Section 5. Annual Leave - Probatio+ry Employees <br />An employee serving a probationary p iriod following initial appointment may accumulate annual leave and shall be <br />permitted to use such leave with prior pproval of his or her supervisor. <br /> <br />Section 6. Annual Leave - Manner o[ a. eeumulation <br /> <br />The anniversary date of employment S. all be used for determining earned annual leave. Any employee working the basic <br />workweek shall earn annual leave at ~ following rates: <br /> <br />Schedule A ~ <br /> <br />Years of A~l~rel~ate Service Horn's Earned Bi-weekly Leave Earned Yearly <br />Less than 5 years 3 hrS. 4 minutes & 37 seconds 80 hours & 2 seconds (10+ days) <br />5 but less than 10 years 4 ~ 104 hours (13 days) <br />10 but less than 15 years 4 ~ 36 minutes & 55 seconds 119 hours 59 minutes & 50 seconds (15- days) <br />15 but less than 20 years 5 hr~ 13 minutes & 51 seconds 136 hours & 6 seconds (17+ days) <br />20 years or more 6 ~ 9 minutes & 14 seconds 160 hours & 4 seconds (20+ days) <br /> <br />Schedule A is for all persons hired or{rehired on July 1, 1997, or thereafter; and those in full-time County employment <br />immediately prior to that date who ~[oluntarily chose to change from Schedule B effective, July 1, 1997, under the <br />following conditions: ~ <br />· County paid health and life insurance coverage will be provided to employees qualifying for retirement as a member <br /> of the North Carolina Local Govejmnental Employees' Retirement System with at least ten of their creditable years <br /> being in the Service of Cabarrus fi!ounty.
