The current language, <br />the proposed change, and a brief explanation for the change are included. <br /> <br />Article II1. Section 14. Education Incentive Program - Consolidate Ordinance by revising <br />language and adding information from Appendix G. Deletes Appendix G and places all program <br />information in one location. <br /> <br />Section 14. Education Incentive Program <br /> <br />Although the minimum qualifications have been established for all classifications within the County, certain <br />classifications are awarded educational incentives if the employee obtains an educational level higher than the minimum <br />requirements. A maximum educational level to which the incentive will apply shall be established by the County Manager <br />for each eligible position. In addition, these classifications must be recommended by the County Manager and approved <br />by the Board of County Commissioners. The classifications eligible for the educational incentive program are listed i~ <br />Appendix G cf t~,e Per:cr~ne! Or~mancebelow. The educational incentive program is established to pay $.75 per month or <br />$9.00 per year for each quarter hour up to 96 quarter hours of credit toward a two year degree at an accredited college or <br />university as this credit is earned. The program pays $12.00 per month for every completed unit often (10) semester <br />hours of credit up to 120 hours toward a four year degree at an accredited college or university as this credit is earned. <br />The program also pays $20.00 per month for every completed unit of ten (10) semester hours of credit up to fifty (50) <br />hours toward a Master's degree at an accredited college or university as this credit is earned. <br /> <br />Employees v:ke are eligible for the educational incentive program as !:.:ted :n, ~pp ....... ~4; shall be exempt from <br />educational leave with pay as contained in Afdc!: VI, Sect'.Ch 29Sectton 15. <br /> <br />Classifications eligible for education incentive program: <br /> <br />Classification Department <br />Captain Sheriff <br /> <br />Maximum Education Level <br /> <br />B.A., Criminal Justice <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
