The town of Harrisburg purchases water from the city of Concord. <br /> <br /> e. The residents of the town of Midland either purchase Water-from the city of <br />Concord or utilize wells. <br /> <br /> 6. The Concord Regional Airport, a general aviation facility, is located on Aviation <br />Boulevard in the western section of the County. The runway is approximately 5500 feet <br />long and is immediately west and parallel to 1-85. There are also several small private <br />airfields in Cabarms County. <br /> <br /> 7. The County is exposed to many potential hazards, all of which could cause damage, <br />create casualties, and disrupt the community. These potential hazards are characterized as <br />natural, technological, or national security. For Cabarrus County these hazards are: <br /> <br /> a. Potential Hazards (An asterisk indicates at least one occurrence in Cabarrus <br />County). <br /> <br />- Severe Weather (tornado, hurricane, ice/snow, severe thunderstorms) * <br />- Major Fire (large structural, forest, or grassland)* <br />- Flood* <br />- Aircraft Crash/Accident* <br />- Mass Casualty Accident/Mass Fatality* <br />- Bomb Threat/Explosion * ~ <br />- Civil Disorder * <br />- Hazardous Materials spill/release (highway and railroad accidents, fixed facility)* <br />- Rail Accident * <br />- Fixed Nuclear Incident (Fifty Mile Ingestion Pathway for McGuire Nuclear Power <br /> Plant) <br />- Drought * <br />- Dam Failure <br />- Earthquakes (minor tremor*) <br />- Mudslides <br /> <br />B. Assumptions <br /> <br /> 1. Cabarms County Government must continually plan for emergencies and be <br />prepared to conduct response and short-term recovery operations utilizing local resources. <br /> <br /> 2.
