Children will elect officers, participate in <br /> community service projdets and will enjoy 4-H projects on the following subjects: <br /> photography, entomolo~, bike safety, and health. <br /> Logan Center wil~ be working with children that are limited resource ethnically <br /> diverse, and have special!needs. Grant funds will serve at least 20 different families. <br /> <br /> Logan Communi~ Center is well known for their collaborative efforts with many <br />different agencies. They ~ave Wonderful relations with the YMCA for swimming and <br />recreational activities, ~ Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Department volunteers <br />will teach educational closes at the center. Local churches participate in Kids Lunch <br />where they come and eac~ lunch/snack with the children in the center. Volunteers from <br />local churches and busin~ses come and volunteer their time to read and offer assistance <br />with homework as well. ~ogan Community Day Care also collaborates with the North <br />Carolina Cooperative Ex~nsion Service with the 4-H Afterschool Program and will <br />provide technical assistan ;e for the grant. <br /> <br /> Collaboration wil'. be extremely beneficial for the success of this program.
