Plan of Action Elite Kids will meet in a separate building from the Early Childhood Program. They will have over 3,000 square feet of room in the building. The building is divided into three different rooms with plenty of room for children to move around and be physically active as well as engaged in a science, math, or creative arts projects. The building was a clubhouse for the apartment complex that surrounds the facilities. The owner of the apartment complex is building another clubhouse and has generously leased the old clubhouse to Elite Day Care Center. The building has plerky of windows and skylights as well as many cozy areas for reading and writing activities and socializing with friends. When a child arrives at the center from school, they will have free choice time to select which center they would like to explore. Since the age range is 5-~[2 years old, it is essential to offer activities that meet a variety of different needs and interests. Centers will be a "hands-on" experience for the children and will participate in many projects during the school year. Parents at Elite Day Care will provide care from 6:30 a.m. until 8:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. weekdays. The cost of care at Elite Day Care will be $ 50 per week for after school care. The center will also offer full-day / care on teacher workdays. A sliding fee scale will be offered for additional children. Rates of other centers in the area range from $65 to $80 for before and after school care. The space has a/ready been pre-approved by the licensing consultant and the fire, building and ,sanitation inspectors have also been contacted and pre-approved the facilities. All inspections will take place by May 28, 2003. Time Line: May-June 2003 - Receive building, fire and sanitation inspections and will receive a temporary license. Z--lO 4
