LOCAL TRANSIT <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br /> CCTS. Planning Services ~r, ansportation Division provides transportation for low income and elderly <br /> residents through various sthte and federal grant programs. <br /> Concord Express. The ConCord Express provides County residents with transportation into Uptown <br /> Charlotte. : <br /> Concord and Kannapolis ~ exploring options to provide transit service with the city limits. <br /> i <br />PEDESTRIAN A~D BIKE F~CILITIES <br /> <br />1. Livable Community Bluepl~nt. This plan identifies several on and off-road bike routes in the County. <br />2. Cabarrus - Kowan MPO. _'][his agency is responsible for transportation planning in a two county area. <br /> The transportation plan tie~in with the recommendations of the Livable Community Blueprint. <br />3. NCDOT. Enhancement ~rant funding is available for the development of bicycle and pedestrian <br /> facilities. Kannapolis was ~ecently awarded a grant to construct a short greenway project. <br />4. Sidewalks. The Cabarrus,Countyl Subdivision Ordinance requires sidewalks on one side of streets <br /> serving 20 or more homes, then lot sizes average 20,000 square feet or less. <br />5. Bike Map and Signage Pro. ect. Parks and Recreation as well as Planning Services have been working <br /> with NCDOT's Bicycle an Pedestrian Office on a project to map suitable on-road bike routes in the <br /> County. The proposed ~tes have been forwarded to NCDOT and they are in the process of <br /> developing the map. <br /> <br /> UTILITIES <br /> <br />WATER SOURCES/INTER~ ~SIN TRANSFERS ' <br /> <br />1. Tuckertown Water Line. C~bncord is examining the potential to extend a water line to the Yadkin <br /> River. See tab number 9 in~,our Planning, Environment & Transportation workbook for details. <br />2. Inter-basin Transfers. Con~)rd is examining its options for inter-basin transfers. Inter-basin transfers <br /> will be reqmred for the Tu~[kertown project. See tab number 9 in your Planning, Environment & <br /> Transportation workbook t~r details. <br /> <br />SERVICE AREAS/NEEDS <br /> <br />1. Utility Service Areas. Star, is working with the County's municipalities and WSACC to define <br /> municipal service areas. <br /> <br />STORMWATER <br /> <br />1. Phase II Stormwater requirements. See tab number 5 in your Planning, Environment & Transportation <br /> workbook for details. <br /> <br />WASTEWATER <br /> <br />1. WSACC. The water and s4wer authority is responsible for wastewater collection and treatment. <br /> Planning staffrefers to the~0 year WSACC Facility Plan during reviews of proposed development <br /> projects as well as during t¥ development of Land Use Plans. <br />GEORGVILLE WATER AN~ FISHERTOWN SEWER <br />1. County staffis working wiih C~ncord and Kannapolis staffto examine the feasibility of bringing <br /> utilities to these communit~s. <br /> <br /> <br />
