Reserve in this case is <br />defined as cash on hand, savings accounts, and/or checking accounts. <br />Income, reserve and outstanding bills must be verifiable through the <br />following methods that are applicable in each situation: <br />a) Pay stubs for all household members, using Work First kinship rules <br />b) Most recent bank statement <br />c) Unemployment Benefits Award Letter <br />d) Family must have outstanding verifiable bills <br />Families receiving benefits must receive budgetary counseling, which will <br />be provided through Consumer Credit Counseling. <br /> Family must have a plan in place to meet their ongoing needs. <br /> Wage earner(s) must be involved in an organized program for re- <br /> employment, when available and provided. <br /> Specific benefits of Special Provision: <br /> a) Benefit payments may be up to but not exceeding $1,200.00 for <br /> various critical expenses during a 12-month period. Benefit payments <br /> exceeding certain levels must have approval of various levels of <br /> management. <br /> b) For rent or mortgage payments, an eviction notice or foreclosure <br /> notice is needed. <br /> c) For necessary utility bills, a cutoff notice is needed. <br /> d) If critically necessary prescription drugs are requested, a drug list <br /> from the pharmacy is required. <br /> e) Due to its necessity in job search efforts, a payment for Internet access <br /> service is allowable under this provision, but cannot exceed $15.00 <br /> per month. <br /> f) Other expenses can be paid through this Special Provision, as <br /> referenced in section A., 7. Above. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />Services to low income families (under 200% of poverty) <br />Due to limited funding and numbers of families in need, Cabarrus County will <br />operate a limited service program to low income families who are not recipients <br />of Work First and are not determined to be in an emergency situation and in need <br />of Emergency Assistance. These services are designed to assist families with <br />some basic needs to stabilize their situation, and likely prevent an application for <br />public assistance.
