Meeting Date 7/21/03 <br /> <br /> CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br /> <br />Agenda Item <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br />Franchise Renewal for Non-Emergency Ambulance Service - Second Reading <br /> <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />This is a renewal of the existing franchise agreement with Mid-State Transportat, Inc. and <br />will be for a period of up to one year with an expiration date of June 30, 2004. The Board <br />approved the Resolution and Ordinance Renewing the Franchise with Mid-State and the <br />Franchise Agreement on June 16. N. C. General Statute 153A-46 requires that any <br />ordinance making a grant, renewal, extension or amendment of any franchise be passed at <br />two regular meetings of the board of commissioners. <br /> <br />REQUESTED ACTION: (Suggested motion if the Board approves the agenda item as presented) <br /> <br />Adopt Resolution and Ordinance Renewing a Non-Exclusive Franchise to Mid-State <br />Transport; Approve renewal of non-exclusive franchise agreement and authorize the <br />Interim County Manager to execute the Agreement on behalf of Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />Attachments [] Yes [] No Expected Length of Presehtation <br /> <br />Submitted By: J.
