CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br /> <br />Meeting Date 7/21/03 Agenda Item # ~'.. ,4)1_ <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br />Authorization for 4-H SOS Goldminers to Submit Applications for the Speedway Children's <br />Charities Grant and the Philip Morris Positive Youth Development Initiative Grant <br /> <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />4-H SOS Goldminers is seeking grant funds to extend the after school programs at Mount <br />Pleasant and Concord Middle Schools for students who are "latchkey kids" and who can <br />benefit from close interaction, assistance, and guidance with adults interested in their <br />success. It is necessary to apply to a variety of agencies to ensure continued funding. No <br />Cabarrus County matching funds are required for either grant.
