Meeting Date 9/15/03 <br /> <br /> CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br /> <br />Agenda Item # <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br />Increase Funding for Parks and Recreation Matching Incentive Grant Program <br /> <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br /> <br />The incentive grant program provides seed money for civic and community groups to <br />construct, improve or acquire recreational and park facilities in the county. County funding <br />for this program is usually $100,000 per year. This is the second consecutive year, <br />however, that county funding has been reduced by 50%. <br /> <br />REQUESTED ACTION: (Suggested motion if the Board approves the agenda item as presented) <br />1. Increase the Matching Incentive Grant funding from $50,000 to $75,000 in FY 2004. <br />2. Instruct the Parks and Recreation Commission to reconsider its award recommendations <br />based on the new $75,000 funding level using the current project priority scoring system. <br />3.
