<br /> On April 21, 2003, the Board of Commissioners tabled consideration of the
<br />Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) until October 2003. On August 25=b, the
<br />Board voted to include on the September 15:h meeting agenda action to remove the
<br />UDO from consideration.
<br />
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Carruth and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board voted to remove the matter of adopting the
<br />Cabarrus County Unified Development Ordinance from consideration by the Board of
<br />Commissioners.

<br />(E-8) Resolution Authorisin~ the Tax Collector to Direct Executions a~-4~t
<br />Personal Property to the Sheriff of Cabarrus Count}, for Collactt-~
<br />
<br /> At the July 21, 2003, meeting, the Board agreed to a plan presented by Linda
<br />Morgan, Tax Collection Supervisor, whereby the Sheriff will le~%, on personal
<br />property to enforce the collection of taxes. The Institute of Government has
<br />recommended that the Board adopt a resolution authorizing this arrangement.

<br /> TO THE SHERIFF OF CABARRUS COUNTY
<br /> FOR COLLECTION

<br /> WHE~, the Tax Collector is authorized under N.C.a.S. 105-367 to direct
<br />an execution to the Sheriff of Cabarrus County to levy upon and sell personal
<br />property for the collection of taxes upon approval by a resolution of the
<br />governing body of the taxing unit; and
<br />
<br /> WHEP~EAS, Cabarrus County has entered into interlocal agreements with other
<br />towns within the County to serve as the towns' tax collector in the listing,
<br />assessing, billing and collection of taxes with full authority to make all
<br />decisions involving collection procedures; and
