ISSUES: There are three issues that our committee would like to bring to your
attention.

· Prescription Drugs for Seniors. Assistance with prescription drugs continues to
be a large area of concern for older adults. North Carolina now has a program
called Senior Care that provides about $1000 of assistance with a 40% co-
payment per year. As we watch the initiatives at the federal level prescription
drugs becomes part of the larger issue to modernize Medicare. This is an area
of huge concern to older adults.
· Much of the funding for older adult services in Cabarrus County comes from
Federal and state funds received from the NC Division of Aging.
