Alcohol will be strictly prohibited from' 9ny and all county-sponsored <br /> events, including the Cabarrus County Fair. <br /> <br />Expo - Pouring Rights Agreement between County and Pepsi-Cola Bottllnq <br />Company <br /> <br /> Mr. Clifton reviewed the agreement between the County (Expo) and Pepsi <br />Cola Bottling Company that provides for the exclusive use of Pepsi products <br />at 'the Expo. In exchange, Pepsi will pay the County (Expo) $35,000.00 per <br />year for the five-year agreement term that will end June 30, 2007. Further, <br />Pepsi will provide its products at wholesale to the facility and its assigned <br />food and beverage contractors. The County (ExpO) and/or its food/beverage <br />contractor will sell the product at the appropriate retail pricing. Also, <br />Mr. Clifton confirmed that The Superlative Group QoDld receive 15 percent of <br />$35,000.00 for five years.under the terms of the Agreement to pursue naming <br />and marketing opportunities for the Expo facility. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the Pouring Rights Agreement with <br />Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company at a fee of $35,000.00 per year for a period of <br />five years. Further, the Board authorized the County Manager to execute the <br />Agreement on behalf of Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />EX~O - Change Order No. 28 (=$123,523.00 -- Adjustment on Unsultable Soilq <br /> <br />and Credit for Capital Recover~ Fee) <br /> <br /> Mr. Clifton reviewed Change Order No. 02~ with Matthews Construction <br />Company for an adjustment on unsuitable soils and a credit for the capital <br />Recovery Fee to the Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus County (WSACC). <br />The County will pay a capacity fee of approximately $25,000.00 to WSACC. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Fennel <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved Change Order No. 028 to the <br />contract with Matthews Construction Company for a credit in the amount of <br />$123,523.00 as follows: (1) Credit of $51,927.00 to adjust unit price for <br />undercut and replacement of unsuitable soils; (2) Credit of $71,596.00 for <br />the capital recovery fee for water and sanitary sewer. <br /> <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />Desi~nation of the Cabarrus County Department of Aging as the Lead Agency fo~ <br />the Home and Community Care Block Grant <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Vice Chairman Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board designated the Cabarrus County Department <br />of Aging to continue to serve as the Lead Agency for the Home and Community <br />Care Block Grant for Older Adults. <br /> <br />Agreement with Carolina Addiction and Recover}, Environment (c~3~) to Provid~ <br />Intensive and Regular Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Services to · <br />Offenders Re~erred by the Courts <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Vice Chairman Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board accepted the recommendation of the <br />Cabarrus County Criminal Justice Partnership Program Advisory Board and <br />approved the agreement with Carolina Addiction and Recovery Environment <br />(~A~E) for the provision of intensive and regular outpatient substance abuse <br />treatment services to offenders referred by the courts. Further, the Board <br />authorized the County Manager to sign the contract with CARE for Fiscal Year <br />2002-03. Annual payment for services is not to exceed $115,231.00 with all <br />funding provided by the North Carolina Department of Corrections Criminal <br />Justice Partnership Program. The County may terminate the agreement if the <br />funds are.not available. <br /> <br /> <br />
