Little, Director <br />Cabarrus County parks and Recreation Department <br /> <br />Proposed Lease and Operations Agreement with the City of Concord for <br />W.W. Flowe Park. <br /> <br />As you are aware, Cabarrus County is developing W.W. Flowe Park on Central Heights <br />Drive. When completed, the park ,approximately 44 acres, will include four <br />baseball/softball fields, a concession/restroom/pressbox facility, two volleyball courts, <br />eight small picnic areas, horseshoe pits, large playground, walking trail system and <br />paved parking area and landscaping. The park is expected, to open this summer and <br />the baseball/softball fields to be ready for play in the Fall of 2002. <br /> <br />Cabarrus County approached the City of Concord concerning managing and <br />programming W.W. Flowe Park. The proposed agreement is a long-term lease <br />agreement with the City of. Concord to allow them to program, manage, and maintain <br />the park. The total annual cost to operate, maintain, and program the park is estimated <br />to be approximately $175,000. This proposed lease and operations agreement doeS <br />not affect the current 2nd tract of undeveloped 25 acres located off Highway 49. <br /> <br /> Parks and Recreation Department <br />65 Church Street SE · P.O.
