Vehicle Standards <br /> <br />A preventative maintenance schedule; which/ncorpg'.rates, at a m/n/mm, the <br />maintenance schedule recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. Providers w/il submit <br />the maintenance records for each type of vehicle used under this MOU prior to <br />commencement of service. .. <br /> <br />Providers must assure the safety and comfort of clients by proper maintenance and <br />equipping of their vehicles.. This includes, but is not limited to: 1. Interior cleanliness of vehicles <br /> 2. Smoke free environment within the vehicles <br /> 3. Appropriate safety equipment, including but not limited to: <br /> a. UL approved fire extinguiiher <br /> b. Roadside reflective devices <br /> c. Working flashlight <br /> d. Chains or other traction devices (when appropriate)' <br /> e. Disposable gloves ~ <br /> f. First Aid Kit <br /> <br />Vehicles shall be equipped with two-way radios 'or 'drivers shall have cellular telephones. <br /> <br />Vehicle exteriors and interiors shall be kept clean at all times. <br /> <br />Wheelchair securement location'within a Vehicle must be designed to limit movement of <br />an occupied wheelchair when the vehicle is in normal operatiOn. Separate from the <br />wheelchair system, an occupant securement system consists 6f; 1 a lap belt or 2 a lap and <br />shoulder belt will be used. <br /> <br />MTS reserves the right tO conduct an inspection of any vehicle used for service within <br />. this MOU at anY time or place. <br /> <br />By sigrfing this Memorandum of Understand/ng the signer hereby acknowledges and <br />agrees to the terms herein. Both parties also acknowledge their willingness t° work <br />dihgently to enhance the transportation services offered to residents of the Mecklenburg <br />County Region and residents of participating municipalities. <br /> <br /> <br />
