Members were instrumental in coordinating with churches and community <br />businesses in providing food and gifts for residents. <br /> <br />Members sought the support of local civic and church organizations to provide personal items to residents. <br /> <br />New member recruitment and orientation. <br /> <br />Serve as volunteers in facility activities through ch~u.rch groups and community groups for sing-alongs, parties, <br />storytelling groups, etc. <br /> <br />One member serves as regular Bingo volunteer at Carillon Assisted Living, the Country Home and Carebridge <br />Assisted Living. <br /> <br />Participated in the presentation of the 2000 annual report to the Cabarms County Commissioners. <br /> <br />Members conduct sing-alongs in facilities' as part of church group. <br /> <br />One member assists in programs and visits sponsored by church hand bell choir and line dance groups. <br /> <br />Conducted 'weekend and evening visits to facilities <br /> <br />Assisted staff at Kannapolis village in decorating facility for the holidays and providing gifts fir residents. <br /> <br />Christmas program/presentation made through the local Extension Homemakers to facRities. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE STRENGTHS <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />Despite the small numbers this year the group was dedicated and hardwor'king, never missing a visi.t, or an <br />opportunity to improve the quality of life for the residents of Cabarrus County residing in adult care homes. <br /> <br />Excellent working relationship with the staff and facility administrators. <br /> <br />Good working relationship with regional Ombudsman and both Cabarrus County Adult Home Specialists. <br /> <br />Excellent rapport with residents and families during facility visits. <br /> <br />Active in the community through other volunteer opportunities in Churches and civic groups. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE CHALLENGES <br /> <br />1. Lack of enough'committee members many times throughout the Year. <br /> <br />2. Wot'king with homes that were on restrictions, suspended admissions or ongoing concerns. <br /> <br />3. Lack of participation of some committee members due to lack of commitment, lack of interest or time, or lack of <br /> experience. <br /> <br />4.
