The hazard mitigation planrfing process provides the <br />opportunity to ensure that all planning efforts work cohesively in order to achieve mitigation <br />goals for existing and future development. Integration into the existing regulatory framework <br />will ensure that the county Hazard Mitigation Plan will be utilized to its full potential. <br /> <br /> (h) Public Education The leaders of Cabarrus County know that education plays a <br />vital role in both the development and implementation of the hazard mitigation plan. The plan <br />can be used to encourage and promote public awareness and participation in mitigation efforts. <br />Mitigation planning can be used to as an educational tool to convey to Cabarrus County citizens <br />the danger of natural hazards and to outline strategies for reducing or eliminating potential <br />damage to lives and property within the county. <br /> <br /> 7. Supplemental Information. The attached annexes to the plan contain additional <br />information to supplement the details of the Hazard Mitigation Plan. The annexes to the plan <br />cover hazard identification and analysis; an assessment of the County's vulnerability to natural <br />hazards; an assessment of the County's capability to address natural hazards; and an evaluation <br />of current County policies and ordinances that influence hazard mitigation planning.
