We will discuss potential benefits <br />towards natural resources and community development in your seven county area of Cabarrus, <br />Gaston, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Stanly, and Union Counties. We will review needed <br />sponsors, past application efforts and the new application process. <br /> <br />With the 2002 Farm Bill permanently authorizing the USDA, RC&D Program a new emphasis <br />has arose from the National RC&D Association, with support from NRCS, to achieve 100% <br />coverage of RC&D's across the United States and its territories by 2005. Currently, increased <br />funding for the RC&D Program is proposed by both the US House and Senate Agriculture <br />Appropriations Committees for Fiscal Year 2003. Therefore there is a high likelihood of new <br />RC&D Areas being approved this fall or winter. <br /> <br /> <br />
