Option 1: <br /> <br />CCTS and Mid State Transport Franchise <br /> <br />Mid-State Transport would apply for and obtain a franchise to operate as a <br />non-emergency transport service within Cabarrus County. This service <br />would work in unison with CCTS. <br /> <br />This would allow for greater coordination between all Convalescent <br />Services in Cabarrus County. This by having operations housed and <br />services administered out of one office and coordinated by one department <br />With Mid-State already working under a contractual agreement to provide <br />services through CCTS this option would enable Cabarms County to <br />provide all of the above services utilizing one provider. <br /> <br />Cabarrus County EMS is prepared and capable of providing the following. <br /> <br />1. Lease a Basic Life Support stocked Ambulance to Mid-State <br /> Transport. This would be used for call originating in Cabarms <br /> County only for convalescent transpOrt services. This will be a <br /> state-certified unit containing all required equipment less an <br /> AED.The amount of the lease would be $1.00 per year <br />2. A state approved training program developed and administered <br /> to provide employees of this service training to advance to the <br /> EMT-I level. This would also include approved in-house <br /> continuing education. This in order to maintain this level of <br /> certification. <br />3. Provide required QA as needed. <br />4. Provide other services as approved or requested by the Public <br /> Safety Services Director or County Manager. <br /> <br />Mid-State Transport would provide the following. <br /> <br />1. State certified EMT personnel <br />2. Insurance <br />3. Management Experience in Convalescent Services <br />4. Base of Operations <br />5. Operate on a 24 hour basis 7 days a week. <br /> <br /> <br />
