Clifton, Jrt/~'~/~7~~o~t[~yd . <br />County Manager · <br /> <br />The County Commission es epartments shall play an active role in <br />the implementation of ENVISION CABARRUS Strategies. While it is important to <br />establish a vision for the future, it is critical that resources be applied to fulfill that vision. <br />Setting priorities will be a key role for the County Commission in the ENVISION <br />CABARRUS implementation process. County responses are summarized as outlined <br />herein. Within "Foundation" areas county participation and key resource issues are <br />identified. (Refer to the VISION document for details on Strategies.) <br /> <br />I. EDUCATION <br />A. 1. <br />Expect all students with varying skill levels, different learning styles, and special needs to graduate from <br />high school prepared either to go to wOrk, attend a community/technical college or attend a college, <br />university or professional school. Monitor each xtudent's grade level progress and implement remediation <br />programs to ensure that each student progresses at maximum potential. This remediation program will <br />reduce the achievement gap between racial and economic groups. <br /> <br />(Cooperative Extension Service) <br />Youth educational programs (4-H After School, Kids Play, and 4-H SOS, etc.) support <br />student success. These programs provide homework help, hands-on active curriculum <br />materials that promote learning at varying skill levels and styles. Specialized adult <br />programming in areas such as horticulture and home economics promote learning for all <br />age groups. <br /> <br />(County Aging Services) <br />The Department of Aging works provides intergenerational programs and events that <br />encourage educational interactions among residents of all ages. Programs are planned for. <br />expansion into schools as funding and statTmg allows. <br /> <br /> Office of the County Manager <br />P.O.
