CABARRUS COUNTY <br />REGION F AGING ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />YEAR END REPORT <br /> <br />The Region F Aging Advisory Committee (RFAAC) is comprised of representatives from <br />each of the nine counties in Region F. Individuals are appointed by County <br />Commissioners and their responsibilities include: to attend four quarterly meetings in <br />Charlotte; to learn about the aging network in their county; and, to make <br />recommendations to the Centralina Council of Governments Executive Committee and <br />Board regarding initiatives and funding allocations on behalf of older adults in the <br />region. <br /> <br />The RFAAC approves Federal and State funds for aging services received from the NC <br />Division of Aging for allocation to each county in the region. During the past year, the <br />services and funds Cabarrus County received are: <br /> <br />Information and Case Assistance <br />Transportation <br />Adult Day Care <br />Housing and Home Improvement <br />In Home Aide II Services (DOA) <br />Congregate Meals <br />Supplemental Meals <br />In-Home Aide II Services (DSS) <br />Disease Prevention Health Promotion <br />Senior Center General Purpose (DOA) <br />Senior Center Outreach <br />Family Caregiver Support Services <br /> <br />$ 44,090 <br />$ 93,5O9 <br />$108,850 <br />$ 30,518 <br />$ 34,328 <br />$125,262 <br />$10,885 <br />$109,330 <br />$ 4,444 <br />$ 5,283 <br />$ 1,922 <br />$ 30,138 <br /> <br />These funds were allocated to the Cabarrus County Department on Aging, Cabarrus <br />County Department of Social Services, and Cabarrus Planning Services, which were <br />able to assist many older adults in Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />The newest program during the past year is the Family Caregiver Support Program. <br />This program provides assistance to Caregivers of older adults or grandchildren who <br />need information, assistance in accessing services, training, respite, or supplemental <br />services. We are very pleased that Cabarrus County has been able to establish this <br />program this past year and we hope that it will grow and provide assistance to many <br />caregivers in the future. <br /> <br /> <br />
